1. Name of your organization and your current role/title:
Im representing the AAWC on the Alliance. On the AAWC I serve as the nurse board member and am the chair of the DEI task force.
At my day to day job at Prohealth I work inpatient and outpatient as a wound provider and translational scientist.
2. How long have you been engaged as an Alliance member?
I’ve been engaged as an alliance member for three years now!
3. What is an example of when the Alliance added value to the wound care space or to your business specifically?
The Alliance adds value to the wound care space by remaining vigilant for legislation that will impact providers and patients alike. I remember when we were seeing non-coverage for gelling fiber surgical dressings, and I had an opportunity to present with the Alliance to insure we could continue to care for patients.
4. What career advice do you live by?
Don’t commit yourself to a corporation, commit yourself to a cause.
5. If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be and why?
I would collaborate with scientists doing phage therapy or epigenetic research. The frontiers of science are exciting!
6. What does an ideal day off look like to you?
Sitting on my porch in the sun with my three dogs, reading.
