Michelle Cooper is a seasoned C-suite executive, director, and advisor and is an expert in regulatory compliance. She spent the last two decades growing, leading, and transforming healthcare compliance for CommonSpirit Health, one of the largest nonprofit, integrated healthcare delivery systems in the nation. In her role as Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer (now retired), she served as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and was actively engaged with Leadership and the Board of Directors to bring a balanced approach to governance, strategy, integrated solutions, and risk management. Michelle oversaw systemwide regulatory compliance, information privacy and security, and health information compliance. She is a trained facilitator and change management leader and served on many of CommonSpirit Health’s executive steering committees charged with the strategic direction for enterprise risk management, business resilience, information technology and development, compliance, diversity and inclusion, and mergers and acquisitions. She brings immediate value to the boardroom through her leadership and board experience by providing insight into building effective partnerships, embracing uncertainty, embedding resilience, and enabling growth in highly regulated and expansive operations. She brings a broad network of industry and government relationships and experience in effectively overseeing a government corporate integrity agreement.

Michelle has served on several Boards of Directors, including the National League for Nursing, and was a member of the Public Policy and Finance Committees; Project PAVE, as the President and a member of the Finance and Development Committees; and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), as the Colorado Chapter President and past President. Additional committee work includes Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Healthcare Industry Foundation (WBL), Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), American Hospital Association (AHA), and HealthTrust.
