Wound patients are increasingly being denied access to important products & procedures – or are being limited in receiving them – because of restrictions in coverage policies. Many coverage challenges stem from a lack of shared clarity surrounding wound care clinical evidence.

  • Current state of wound care evidence, next steps in wound care research & evidence development
  • Wound care research challenges and opportunities - the clinical, business & payer perspectives
  • Clinical trial design, endpoints, registries and real-world evidence: what is appropriate evidence for coverage from public and commercial payers
  • Payer Panel: How coverage policies are developed & the evolving evidentiary expectations necessary for positive coverage policies
  • Via keynotes, panels and interactive Q&A sessions, attendees will hear from a diverse range of governement policy makers and private payers who will share perspectives on wound care evidence, how it gets evaluated and considered for coverage decisions, and how evidence needs may shift in the future.
  • Solution-oriented breakout sessions will enable attendees to identify next steps and collaboration opportunities to address evidence and coverage issues moving forward.

The May 2022 Evidence Summit provided a critically needed multi-disciplinary meeting for payers, government agency policymakers, prominent researchers, wound care medical specialty societies, patient and clinical associations, wound care clinics and manufacturers to address the shared goals of:

  • Addressing the current state of wound care research and clinical trial design
  • Exploring solutions to address the limitations in the wound care evidence-base
  • Communicating with payer medical directors on the development of coverage policies and the use of clinical practice guidelines in coverage decisionmaking
